Time to Work Employment Services

PeoplePlus is proud to have been appointed by the Department of Jobs and Small Business to deliver the new Time to Work Employment Service across 19 Correctional Centres in the ACT, New South Wales, and South Australia. In partnership with Babana Aboriginal and Tribal Warrior Association, PeoplePlus will deliver the program to eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prisoners to assist them to access the support they need to find employment and reintegrate into the community upon their release from prison.

PeoplePlus Executive Chairman, Con Kittos, said that he applauds the Government’s commitment to its Closing the Gap employment goals.

“The Time to Work program is a positive step towards addressing the gaps identified in the Prison to Work Report to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples receive high-quality, culturally appropriate assistance to access support and opportunities when they are released from prison.

"Our delivery of this program will build on the strong relationship between PeoplePlus, Babana and Tribal Warrior, which continues to provide support and mentoring and lead to successful employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers in Sydney.“

PeoplePlus General Manager, Emma Crichton, was also proud of this achievement.

“Time to Work will contribute improving service delivery and economic prosperity for many Indigenous Australians.

"We are excited to be awarded this contract and be recognised for our ability to work effectively with Aboriginal owned and operated organisations, as well as the broader employment services sector. We believe this program has the potential to make a significant difference to the lives of those exiting from Prison," said Emma.

PeoplePlus Mentors will work with eligible prisoners prior to their release to develop individualised pathways that recognise the unique strengths, needs, and culture of each participant. Our relationships with employment services providers and community organisations will ensure that participants are connected to the supports they need to reintegrate into the community after release.

Mr. Kittos added that this appointment allows PeoplePlus to deliver our first-class programs to more communities and help empower the lives of more Indigenous Australians.

“PeoplePlus is growing to become a truly great Australian company committed to helping people to transform their lives and businesses through work and training.”
