Fred wasn’t sure about what kind of work he could perform and he felt that his skills were limited and outdated. This made it much harder for him to decide where to focus his job search efforts.
To gain the skills and confidence to enter the workforce, Fred worked closely with the PeoplePlus Burwood team and with his Case Manager, decided to attend and complete the PeoplePlus Allied Health program. The Allied Health Program was successful in addressing various non-vocational barriers.
Once those non-vocational barriers were out of the way he attended and successfully completed a Certificate II in Hospitality. PeoplePlus also assisted Fred in gaining the necessary computer skills to apply for jobs, create resumes and to be able to handle himself at interview.
Fred then secured a job as a packer with Lewis Continental Kitchen through a referral by PeoplePlus Recruitment Consultant, Anthony Boutros. PeoplePlus supplied Fred with work clothing and in job support to ensure he could maximise his contribution as a new employee. To date, Fred has achieved eight months of employment since the commencement of his employment contract.
Fred’s Case Manager, Jing Wei, said, “My favourite thing about this industry is when we can assist people to find a job that they really enjoy and get fulfillment from, I’m really happy with what Fred has achieved.”
The team at PeoplePlus would like to congratulate Fred on this fantastic achievement and wish you continued success in your career.
