PeoplePlus Australia is expanding its reach to Australian job seekers on Norfolk Island.

The organisation was one of a small number of jobactive providers who were requested to tender for the external territory by the Australian Government and was successful in its bid.

The win will see PeoplePlus deliver jobactive, Work for the Dole and the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) programs from 30 June 2016.

PeoplePlus Executive Chairman Con Kittos said the Norfolk Island branch would integrate with the organisation’s 30-plus sites around Australia, who work to place job seekers, deliver training, and assist people with launching their own businesses.

Job seekers will also receive assistance with looking for a job, writing resumes, preparing for interviews, helping employers find suitable staff and providing financial support to the community for Work for the Dole.

Also, PeoplePlus’ FastTrack Recruitment division will serve Norfolk Island businesses through the provision of high-quality permanent, temporary, and contract candidates.

Mr Kittos recently said "It’s not only about helping job seekers look for jobs, but also getting them ready for work through training, gaining experience and qualifications.

“Our training and the Work for the Dole programme will help young people develop their skills and experience, making them more valuable in the employment market,” Mr Kittos said.

The organisation also won a contract to run the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) for job seekers who are interested in running a new small business.

NEIS will provide individualised help for job seekers to become self-employed entrepreneurs through accredited small business training and business mentoring for up to 52 weeks.

“On my recent visit to the Island, I met many people who worked two to three jobs at once.

“This strong work ethic and the people's general resilience bodes well for creating New Enterprises. I very much look forward to helping locals to build new businesses, create new jobs and to deliver work-relevant skills and qualifications,” Mr Kittos said.

PeoplePlus Norfolk Island will officially open their doors to job seekers on Friday 1 July 2016.
