For over seven years, Steven had been unsuccessful in holding down and securing steady work. He had difficulties in consistently maintaining the attention and desire he required during previous opportunities he had accepted, and had a personal goal to be confident enough to secure and maintain a full-time job.
To address these challenges, Steven was referred to our Kogarah branch and worked closely with the team to gain the confidence he needed to work through the interview and consultation process. To work through these and various other barriers; he completed the Resilience Training Workshop held by AETS in March 2017 where he learnt how to improve his strengths, positivity, mental toughness, mindset and character.
It had been over a decade since Kelly was working steadily and consistently. Her goal was also to secure a full-time job, and was referred to our Maroubra branch in late 2016. She then worked closely with our team and has received the vital support needed to realising her goal which included consultation through our Allied Health services, suitable clothing for her initial interviews and specialist mentoring through the Indigenous Specialist Wage Subsidy.
With our Kogarah Branch Manager, Alicea Shaw and Maroubra Branch Manager, Malcolm Quigg impressed with the notable improvements in mindset, positivity and confidence instilled in both Stephen and Kelly, they were then recommended to our Business Development Specialist, Tanya Sheehan who then referred them for cleaning positions with City Clean.
City Clean are an Australian owned Building Maintenance service contractor with over 15 years of experience and during this time, has built a remarkable reputation and strong relationship with several property managing companies and property developers.
Stephen and Kelly were then able to secure employment with City Clean and are both currently tracking for a 26 week full outcome.
City Clean are proud to have Steven and Kelly as part of their busy team and said, “Stephen and Kelly have been exceptionally delightful and great assets to our team.”
Kogarah Branch Manager, Alicea Shaw is proud of the great strides and persistence that Stephen has made to secure a steady job.
“From the whole team here in Kogarah, we are all just so happy for Steven and so proud of how well we have heard about how he is progressing in his current job.”
Maroubra Branch Manager, Malcolm Quigg believes that the experience working with Kelly has been a personal achievement of his own.
“If you're not making someone else's life better, then you're wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.”
The team at PeoplePlus would like to congratulate both Stephen and Kelly on this fantastic achievement and wish you continued success in your career.
